How to buy a man’s watch?
When I was 7 my father bought me my first watch. I remember that day clearly. He came back home from a business trip to China. He always brought me a super cool new present. This time it was different though. I don’t know why but it seems that most of us remember our first watch. Just as we remember our first bike. I guess it is a milestone, because suddenly, you have your own perception of the time. Anyway, he brought me a Casio, but it wasn’t like any other Casio I’ve ever seen. It had a video game in it! You see, the watch was actually a car, and it was racing, and when I pushed a button it moved to the right land and when I pushed another button it moved to the left – so as a responsible 7 year old I tried not to bump into other cars. I used to spend all day in school playing with the watch. This is probably why I suck at grammar. I kept that silly watch for a long time and last year, when I got married, my wife told me “honey, I think we should get you a new watch.” I looked at my favorite watch and cried “but I don’t wannoo!” What can I say, a man gets attached to his watch. How do you even buy a watch? How can you find that one perfect watch that suites you the most? My wife took the liberty to go online and came out quite the men’s watches expert. Here are a few tips for all of you guys who’re looking for a watch but don’t know a Swatch from a Rolex:
- First of all, know your budget. There are watches that cost under a buck and ones that cost hundreds of thousands. If you decide on a price range, it will help to narrow down the options.
- What kind of a guy are you? Do you like extreme sports or do you like extreme TV watching? Match your watch to your daily activities. Do you need it to be sturdy so you can take it to the moon? Or classy so you could take it to a cocktail party?
- Think about the features you need in your watch. Do you really need to put extra money for a barometer when you don’t even know what it does? Do you need a water-resistant or a water-proof? Seriously, did you ever dive outside of your bath tub? Features cost money and sometimes what we really need in a watch is just to know the time.
- The time! Check if the watch shows the time. Clearly, I mean. If you have trouble reading small numbers, look for a watch with large figures. It might sound obvious, but many people find themselves having difficulty telling the time in their new watch.
- The Swiss may be neutral but they still pride themselves in being the best watch makers in the world. Their cheese might have holes but the watch claim is totally true.
- Keep your watch in shape. Just like your car, you should give it in once a couple of years. They’ll lubricate it, service it and take it to the spa.
And you should defiantly buy online. But go to the store first. Many watches look great in pictures but then you discover they are not comfortable or just twice as big as you thought. You can also check out www.bacario.com they have a great selection of discount luxury watches. You can purchase directly from the site or you call Bacario’s sales department where a knowledgeable staff member will be happy to assist you. Go ahead. You know it’s time for a new watch.
